I finally have my very own cuckoo clock thanks to my mum. I'm so in love with it as it reminds me of growing up in Germany and being close to The Alps. Like a child I find myself waiting on the hour for the little cuckoo to appear. I think this could be the start of a mini collection (hears the boyfriend sigh!).

For the 2nd year in a row me and my boyfriend participated in the London to Brighton mini run and loved it. The crowds along the streets cheered and waved us and everybody was lovely and friendly. Our mini was superb getting us there and home safely. Not bad for a 24yr old :)

Some lovely friends recently bought me and my partner this fantastic framed Walthamstow sign. Walthamstow is the area of London that we live in (and love) and the print is actually made from old vintage playing cards (1930s I think). It's so beautiful that I wanted to share it. Enjoy!

My boyfriends parents gave us this lovely Royal Doulton tea set from the 70s (only showing a small section of it here). It was one of their wedding gifts that they wanted to pass on. I adore it, esp the beautiful bird pattern on the plates.

Here are some photographs of Mary Portas' new shop that features my illustrations. I didn't get any shots of my work as a few had sold and needed replacing. The shop has a vintage Victorian feel, with loads of lovely one off pieces designed by local artists. If your in and around London it's worth a visit. I attempted to illustrate a carousel and it was harder (and more time consuming) than I thought. However the horses came out OK so I thought I'd make a pattern out of them. I can see these working nicely on fabric :)

I attended the London to Brighton mini run this weekend. It was the 25th anniversary of the race and it was so much fun and a great atmosphere. Sadly there was a few mini breakdowns but everybody was in great spirits and helped out, resulting in a lot of love on the roads (for once). Our mini (the blue one) was brilliant putting most of the newer cars to shame. Enjoy!

Here are some shots from my recent trip to Chamonix. The trip was interesting to say the least (hence the lack of shots) but it was great to be back on the mountains and away from London. Chamonix is a great town, the locals are lovely and friendly and the terrain is rugged and challenging.The weather wasn't perfect, too many white out days and I didn't get as much time on the slopes as I wanted

Me and Andy (boyfriend) cooked an impressive meal together last night. My challenge was vegetarian lasagne and his was tiramisu. They both turned out great even if we did eat too much. Polished it all off with some Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Lovely!

I went to a Rob Ryan exhibition this evening. He's an artist who creates his work by cutting up paper, it's very heartwarming and humble. The exhibition was small and friendly, Rob was there himself and there was free booze, altogether a brilliant evening. I even came back with a few goodies (sorry the photos aren't very good, iphone!)

I've been feeling a bit fed up recently (must be the time of the year) so my boyfriend planned a surprise day for me on Saturday and took me to a Japan day event. It was about celebrating all things Japanese and I loved it! There was so many people dressed in tradition clothes and lots of yummy food. I took some photos of one of my favorite spots in London. It's a small graveyard in the centre right next to old street. I've been coming here for years, just to get some quiet time and look at the ancient graves. One of my favorite reasons for coming here (other than the fact not many people know of it) is that William Blake is buried here and there are always oranges, trinkets and little gems
